Yoga Teacher Training FAQs
How much previous experience do I need in order to do teacher training?
There is NO minimum amount of yoga experience needed. Our training is open to beginners and experts alike.
How old do I have to be to participate in teacher training?
You must be at least 16 years old to participate in teacher training. Those between 16-17 years old must provide written permission from a parent or guardian.
Do I have to want to be an instructor in order to do teacher training?
No, many people take teacher training to deepen their own practice and learn more about yoga.
If I have an injury or chronic illness can I still participate in teacher training?
We always recommend talking to your physician first. If they say it is ok, then we are happy to work with you and help you achieve your goals! We are proud to work with diverse yogis and tailor our program to fit their needs.
Can I do teacher training if I am pregnant?
As long as it is ok with your physician, you can participate. You know yourself best. Listen to your body.
How can I prepare for yoga teacher training?
Come and visit the studio! We’d be happy to give you a free class at Soul Strong so that you can see our main studio, and get a feel for our community. Practicing yoga is a great way to prepare for teacher training!
What are the required texts that I will need to purchase?

Any required materials for home?
You will need access to a computer and the internet to complete our 20-hour online anatomy program, YogaFundamentals.net. Did we mention that access to our online anatomy with world-renowned yoga educators and best-selling authors of Yoga Anatomy, Leslie Kaminoff and Amy Matthews, is absolute free of charge?! It’s a $500 value and truly exceptional.

Who is Soul Strong Yoga accredited with?
We are a 5-star rated Yoga Alliance Registered School. Your 200 Hour Soul Strong Yoga Certification will have the Yoga Alliance 200 Hour RYS on it.

Does Soul Strong have a payment plan option available for yoga teacher training?
Yes! We do! There is an additional cost for paying in installments after your training has started, but many students find that this option is much more accessible. Please contact us for details!
Is a deposit required to hold my spot?
Yes! We require a non-refundable $300 deposit to hold your spot. Your registration must be paid in full prior to the beginning of your training, unless you have made payment plan arrangements with us.
Does Soul Strong arrange accommodations if I am coming from out of town?
No, we do not, but Round Rock is a fabulous town to stay in! We are also located close enough to Austin, that you can commute from Austin to Round Rock as well.
Does Soul Strong provide make-up classes if I miss a training session?
No, we do not, but we can work with you to make sure that you can cover the materials in a self-study environment. We follow Yoga Alliance standards on how many classes you can miss. Please contact us for details if you are concerned that you will need to miss more than two training sessions.
